The most popular season to tie the knot may be fall, but we're reminiscing about a gorgeous winter wedding that transpired in The Mariners' South Courtyard. As friends and family gathered to watch Jayli and Asa say, "I do," warmth and love radiated throughout the space, creating a magical atmosphere. 

The title of this work, “Marine Totem with Osprey Nest”, carries a reverence. The idea of a totem invokes a spirituality, rooted in the indigenous belief of humankind’s kinship with nature. More secularly, this concept describes something that acts as a respected symbol.

On October 17 - 20, 2024 a community science event called “Catch the King,” led by Wetlands Watch with the support of numerous local environmental partners, including The Mariners’ Museum and Park, will give the community the ability to help monitor the flooding from king tides in coastal Virginia.
