The Mariners’ Museum and Park seeks to hire a full-time Paper Conservator to carry out the direct treatment and preventive conservation care of works on paper within the collection of the museum including prints, drawings, watercolors, documents, and photographs. This individual will work in conjunction with Library and Archival Materials Conservator and other conservation staff and museum personnel to plan and carry out treatments for these objects and prepare them for exhibition, long-term storage, loan, and photography etc. The candidate will also participate in the museum’s robust public outreach initiative by engaging with visitors through viewing windows in the laboratory space.
Applicants must hold a Master’s degree in conservation from a recognized graduate conservation training program. Applicants should have a minimum of four years of post-graduate conservation experience.
The salary for this position is $57,000 plus a full benefits package.

This individual will work closely with conservation staff and other museum personnel to conserve artifacts and to prepare them for exhibition and/or long-term storage.
Applicants must hold a Master’s degree in conservation from a recognized graduate conservation training program (or equivalent). Applicants should have a minimum of four years of post-graduate conservation experience and familiarity with a wide variety of materials including metals and organics.
The salary for this position is $55,000 plus a full benefits package.

The Archaeological Conservator will undertake the direct treatment and preventive conservation care of objects recovered for the wreck of the USS Monitor and artifacts within the Museum’s collection as needed. This individual will work closely with conservation staff and other museum personnel to conserve artifacts and to prepare them for exhibition and/or long-term storage.
