A sailor with many thousands of miles of salt water in his wake, John Rousmaniere is a noted authority on boats. In conjunction with Seizing the Moment: The Evolution of Action Photography, the Museum’s newest exhibit, Rousmaniere will showcase his books including the storm classic Fastnet, Force 10 and a widely heralded manual, The Annapolis Book of Seamanship. John is also a skilled amateur photographer, having written two books on the famous Rosenfeld Collection (one titled Sleek). During this presentation, Rousmaniere will show classic photos of boats in distress or triumph, he will comment on them both as art and as guides to good (and bad) seamanship.
