August 15, 2015 @ 2:00 PM - 4:00 PM EDT

Want to experience the spine-tingling, goosebump-raising feeling of holding an original artifact of great historical significance? On August 15, Museum visitors will be able to handle of some of the original artifacts recovered from the wreck of USS Monitor — with gloves of course.

Guests will have the opportunity to speak with conservation staff, learn more about the artifacts and their significance, as well as learn about the overall conservation process.

“We’re giving guests a chance to handle their own history,’ said Dave Krop, Director, USS Monitor Center.”

Be sure to attend this program for a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to handle ironclad history!

Free with Museum admission.
